Karim Ginena:
A social scientist and Founder of RAI Audit, Karim boasts 16 years of experience working in ethics and governance across industry and academia. His recent tenure with Meta’s Responsible AI Team and membership in the IEEE’s USA AI Policy committee underscore his expertise. Karim, holding a Ph.D. in Management (business ethics and organizational behavior) from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, graduates from BABL AI’s online AI and Algorithm Auditor Certification Program as an outstanding student. He will now join us as our new AI Governance Advisor.

Piero Soave:
An international policy and advocacy expert, Piero has advised blue-chip firms in highly regulated industries on the impact of EU policy developments. With extensive knowledge of the Brussels decision-making process, Piero has built and led in-house public affairs teams in Europe and Southeast Asia. Currently covering Economic Development Policy for Southern Europe at Amazon, Piero’s keen interest in responsible AI policy and governance aligns with our mission. As a student of BABL AI’s online AI and Algorithm Auditor Certification Program, Piero’s excellence in AI Governance earns him the role of our new AI Policy Advisor.

BABL AI Advisor to Speak at WISE Summit in Qatar

BABL’s AI Governance Advisor and founder of RAI Audit,  Karim Ginena, will be speaking at 3 events in the Middle East next week. He will be joining over 100 local, regional and international experts to discuss ethical AI at the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) Summit, which will take place at the Qatar National Convention Center in Doha, Qatar on November 28 and 29. He will also be giving a lecture at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). 

 

Ginena’s first event will be November 28, 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in Thematic Zone C, Room 104. Ginena will join Alvin Wang Graylin, Shingai Manjengwa, Natasa Milic-Frayling and Chibeza Agley for the building ethical AI panel: “Can We Trust AI to Build Ethical Education Futures?” The second event will be a policy roundtable on building ethical AI, called “Writing the Rules: What Does the Roadmap to Ethical AI Look Like?” Ginena will join Claudia Urrea, Eman AlKuwari, Ahmed Elmagarmid, Marc Owen Jones, Pelonomi Moiloa, Leanne Robers, Fernando Díaz del Castillo, and Thomas Banchoff in Thematic Zone C, Room 104, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.  The third and final event will be a lecture at HBKU by Ginena titled “Ethics in the Age of AI: Steering Technology Toward Good” on November 29th from 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in Conference Room 2, Minaretein.

 

The theme of this year’s WISE Summit is “Creative Fluency: Human Flourishing in the Age of AI.” There is still time to register for the WISE Summit and check out Ginena and the dozens of other fascinating panels and lectures.
