BABL AI is excited to announce that its Founder and CEO, Dr. Shea Brown, will be a featured speaker at RightsCon 2025, the premier global summit on human rights in the digital age. The event will take place from February 24 to 27, 2025, in Taipei and online.
Shea Brown will co-lead the session titled “Covering the Last Mile of Accountability and Oversight: AI Auditing” on February 27, alongside Gemma Galdon-Clavell, Founder and CEO of Eticas.ai. Both are founding members of the International Association of Algorithmic Auditors (IAAA). This session will delve into the critical role of AI auditing in ensuring accountability and transparency in AI systems, addressing challenges, methodologies, and the future of ethical AI oversight.
Speaking about RightsCon, Brown said it’s the ideal venue to highlight the power of AI auditing and assurance to increase accountability in AI systems. “Especially when they can impact fundamental human rights. I hope we can illustrate to the community that assessments of AI go beyond the technical, and include deep socio-technical considerations,” said Brown.
RightsCon annually gathers a diverse group of stakeholders, including business leaders, policymakers, technologists, academics, journalists, and human rights advocates, to tackle pressing issues at the intersection of human rights and technology. The 2025 summit marks the 13th edition and the first to be hosted in East Asia, reflecting Taiwan’s recognition for its free online environment and commitment to human rights.
