Governor Gavin Newsom announced the launch of LA Rises, a new public outreach campaign aimed at supporting long-term recovery for communities impacted by the Eaton and Palisades fires. In addition to connecting residents in Altadena and the Palisades with trusted resources, recovery updates, and real-time information from local leaders and organizations, the initiative features a new AI-powered permitting tool designed to streamline recovery efforts and provide residents with faster, more efficient access to essential permits and services.
“Recovery isn’t just about physical rebuilding—it’s about trust, belonging, and community,” said Newsom. “The LA Rises outreach campaign is more than a short-term recovery effort; it’s a movement to build a future that supports everyone who calls Los Angeles home.”
The campaign, led in collaboration with local media, community organizers, and faith-based leaders, will also spotlight individuals and grassroots groups working on the ground to help neighborhoods heal and rebuild.
Alongside the campaign, Newsom unveiled the beta launch of Archistar, a new AI-powered permitting tool designed to accelerate the rebuilding process. Developed through a public-private partnership with LA Rises and other philanthropic supporters, the tool allows property owners to check designs for building code compliance before submission—helping to fast-track permit approvals.
Single-family homeowners affected by the Eaton or Palisades fires are encouraged to sign up for early access through the City or County of Los Angeles websites.
First introduced in January, LA Rises unites public and private sector leaders under a single recovery framework. In addition to communications efforts, the initiative supports small business grants, housing resilience, and mental health services.
As rebuilding efforts continue, LA Rises will provide ongoing updates aligned with the LA County Forward Blueprint for Recovery—focused on housing, permitting, financial support, and restoring essential services to affected communities.
