Oracle announced plans to invest $3 billion over the next five years in Germany and the Netherlands to expand its artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing infrastructure across Europe, Reuters reported.

The Texas-based tech giant said it will allocate $2 billion to Germany and $1 billion to the Netherlands as it ramps up capacity to meet surging demand for AI-powered and cloud-based services. Oracle joins a wave of global technology firms significantly increasing spending to support growing enterprise adoption of AI workloads.

According to Reuters, the investment underscores the broader trend of massive capital flows into AI infrastructure. In 2024, Amazon pledged €10 billion to expand operations in Germany, while Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced plans to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on new AI data centers.

Demand for AI and cloud services has intensified, with companies like Oracle, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google offering platforms that increasingly outperform traditional enterprise software, according to industry analysts.

Oracle’s stock rose 2% in pre-market trading following the announcement and is up nearly 38% year-to-date. The company expects capital expenditures to exceed $25 billion in fiscal year 2026, primarily focused on expanding its global network of data centers for AI.

“As we bring more capacity online, our revenue and profit growth will further accelerate,” Oracle CEO Safra Catz said in June.

The investment comes amid growing confidence in Oracle’s long-term AI strategy. In a recent regulatory filing, the company revealed it had secured a major deal with an undisclosed client that could generate more than $30 billion annually starting in fiscal year 2028.

The latest expansion cements Oracle’s commitment to being a key player in the rapidly evolving global AI and cloud computing landscape.
