Dubai has started off 2025 by unveiling the “Dubai AI Seal,” a certification mechanism aimed at fostering trust and reliability among artificial intelligence (AI) companies. Announced under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, the initiative seeks to establish a trusted network of AI providers that government entities and businesses can depend on for secure and credible AI solutions.
Developed by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), the certification offers companies a competitive edge in government procurement and national projects. AI Seal certification will be a prerequisite for companies aspiring to partner with United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Dubai government initiatives. Certified companies can display the seal on digital platforms and promotional campaigns, enhancing their visibility and credibility.
Applications for the Dubai AI Seal, available free of charge on the DCAI website, are open to all Dubai-licensed technology companies offering AI products or services. Evaluation criteria include the nature of the company’s operations, the expertise of AI-specialized employees, ongoing and planned projects, and partnerships across public and private sectors. Each certified company will receive a unique serial number and classification under the AI Seal.
The Dubai AI Seal underscores the strategic importance of the AI sector to Dubai’s economy and the Middle East as a whole. By providing a reliable verification system for AI service providers, the initiative aims to bolster Dubai’s position as a hub for AI innovation in the Middle East, create jobs in Dubai, and strengthen alliances between government and technology firms.
