More than 60 organizations have signed on to the White House’s new Pledge to America’s Youth: Investing in AI Education. The sweeping initiative plans to boost artificial intelligence education across K-12 schools and prepare students for an AI-driven future.
The pledge supports President Trump’s executive order Advancing Artificial Intelligence Education for America’s Youth. Participating organizations have committed to providing funding, curricula, training, tools, mentorship, and workforce development resources over the next four years.
“Fostering young people’s interest and expertise in artificial intelligence is crucial to maintaining American technological dominance,” said Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. “These initial pledges will help create new educational and workforce development opportunities for our students.”
The initiative aims to close the AI skills gap early by making AI learning accessible to students from all backgrounds. Resources will be directed to schools, communities, and educators to spark curiosity and build foundational skills in AI.
Education Secretary Linda McMahon praised the wave of support. She says it “will help our teachers and learners leverage AI in classrooms and communities across America.” Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer added, “We must ensure the next generation of American workers is equipped with the skills they need to lead in this new era.”
The U.S. National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, Department of Agriculture, and other federal agencies are also backing the initiative. Additional grants, programs, and technologies tied to the pledge will be rolled out in the months ahead.
This marks a significant step in efforts to integrate AI education and prepare Americans to thrive in the future economy.
