His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, has approved a new set of artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives designed to fast-track Dubai’s digital transformation and strengthen its position as a global technology hub.

The announcement followed a meeting of the Higher Committee for Future Technology Development and the Digital Economy, during which Sheikh Hamdan reviewed Dubai’s progress in expanding its AI ecosystem. The initiatives include the launch of the AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform, the creation of the Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce, and the Unicorn 30 Programme to support high-growth startups.

“Our vision is clear, and our priorities are well defined,” Sheikh Hamdan said. “We are in a constant race to enhance the readiness of our government entities not only to keep pace with future transformations but also to make the most of AI tools in delivering services that are more efficient, secure, and innovative.”

The AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform will provide government entities with a secure, integrated digital environment to develop AI-driven services and reduce operational costs while ensuring strong cybersecurity standards. The Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce, meanwhile, will coordinate efforts among 27 government entities to accelerate AI adoption and improve decision-making across sectors.

Under the Unicorn 30 Programme, developed with participation from 80 local and international firms, Dubai aims to help 30 emerging companies reach billion-dollar valuations by offering targeted support in financing, regulation, and growth.

Sheikh Hamdan said the initiatives align with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and reflect the emirate’s goal of becoming “the world’s fastest, smartest, and most prepared city” to integrate AI and future technologies into all aspects of governance, business, and society.
