The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has signed a landmark OneGov agreement with xAI, providing federal agencies access to the company’s Grok artificial intelligence models for just $0.42 per agency—the lowest cost and longest duration of any federal AI agreement to date. The partnership, effective immediately, runs for 18 months and is valid through March 2027.

Under the agreement, agencies will gain access to xAI’s Grok 4 and Grok 4 Fast frontier models, which are designed for advanced reasoning and high-speed performance. The deal also includes dedicated xAI engineering teams to help integrate AI tools across government operations.

“Widespread access to advanced AI models is essential to building the efficient, accountable government that taxpayers deserve,” said Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum. “We value xAI for partnering with GSA—and dedicating engineers—to accelerate the adoption of Grok to transform government operations.”

xAI cofounder and CEO Elon Musk called the partnership a milestone for both the company and the U.S. government. “xAI’s frontier AI is now unlocked for every federal agency, empowering the government to innovate faster and accomplish its mission more effectively than ever before,” Musk said, adding that the collaboration advances President Trump’s goal for the U.S. to lead the global AI race.

The program, branded as “Grok for Government,” also provides an upgrade path to FedRAMP- and Department of Defense–aligned enterprise subscriptions for agencies requiring expanded security and performance capabilities.

Aligned with the White House’s “America’s AI Action Plan,” the agreement aims to boost efficiency, strengthen innovation, and modernize government services. Agencies can begin procuring and deploying Grok AI models through existing GSA channels immediately, marking the final addition to the agency’s suite of frontier AI offerings.
